We knew it was coming, and yet this was one hefty period. Our son had his first surgery to close his lip and palete cleft. Leaving your little boy at the surgery table is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, ever. The tense times have been worth it though: we couldn’t be more pleased with the outstanding result of the surgery. And he has been so brave throughout!
We all know children grow and develop so fast! We’d better capture these precious moments with some memorable pictures. Now that he is a little baby, we asked our wedding photographer Dario Endara for a photoshoot of Tibo. Again very pleased with the results 🙂
Our unbelievably cute and gorgeous son was born today – a happy little Buddha weighing 10 pounds wet! We have been so curious to see his face, and yet from the first moment we held him in our arms it was natural and self-evident: he belongs with us. A little prince to spoil and enjoy. Welcome my dearest son. – “These are times to cherish, and things to live for”
For a special evening out together, we decided to try a new venue in Tilburg: a restaurant in a train wagon. Despite her pregnant belly, Ellen and I squeezed in at the bar. The concept and kitchen stems from the owners of De Houtloods. The food in the wagon is not up to the restaurant standards; it is more luxury pub dining in a cosy atmosphere.
We asked our wedding photographer Dario Endara to create a nice series of photos, now that Ellen has a wonderfully pregnant belly. We went to the trendy industrial area Strijp-S in Eindhoven for a fun shoot. Our day ended at the bar Radio Royaal for a few more photos and a nice chat with Dario. Wonderful pictures and memories to cherish.
For the 37th anniversary of my parents’ marriage we were treated to a nice dinner at ‘De 2 Bourgondiërs‘. Very cozy setting, unpretentious yet tasty menu. Great evening together 🙂
End of an era: after more than seven years we handed over the keys of our appartment in Tilburg. We had a wonderful time in this cozy appartment, but is was time to move on. And we found a fantastic house in a great neigbourhood.
A special day for Sanne, she took her Communion this day. Special days come with special celebrations. How about a dedicated fries and snack truck in front of the house? Yummy!
A big step this day: the key to our new house! The house is charming and sturdy in a fantastic neighborhood. It will need quite some love (and demolition work) to make this place our new home. 😀
As a season ticket holder, we know the animal park Beekse Bergen quite well. This time we visited with Ellen’s family. Great to see the kids enjoy the park; the slide and swing are still more important than most of the wildlife though 😉
The very first birthday for Abel was celebrated ‘beej Bertje’. The children had lots of opportunity to play and enjoy candy, while the grown-ups had the pleasure of a good chat and a glass of wine. Abel surely enjoyed the attention and his new toys. 😎
For this special occasion we went with the whole family for a good game of bowling. The competition was fierce of course, especially on the lane with the children’s slide 😉 Afterwards we got together for a “fries & fittings” dinner. I wish for good health and more years to celebrate!
We joined the surprise party for Sanne – who is joining the crowd of thirty. A nice restaurant was arranged, with a pizza brunch and a playgarden paradise for the children. Hip hip hurray! 🙂
We enjoyed a wonderful and sociable dinner at the Indonesian restaurant Ibu Aidit. It was a present for my parents, but we got to benefit from a perfect evening as well! The wonderful weather allowed us to sit outside in the beautifully forested area of Oisterwijk, enjoying typical Indonesian dishes (including many, many varieties of Sateh :-). With excellent food and friendly personell a real recommendation. Above all, a great get-together with my parents 😀
Pfew, time flies. It seems like we walked into the theater just last week: what a wonderful day we had! We celebrated our anniversary in style, back at the bed & breakfast ‘Villa Pastorie’. The owner made sure we got a wonderful water-side table, where we could watch the bridgekeeper manually operate the swinging bridge. After a tasty meal and a proper drink, we were in for a surpise in our gorgeous ‘Bad & Boek’ room: beautiful flowers and a bottle of champagne (with marital dressed glasses!). Thanks for the nice gifts 😀
After year of hard work, Ellen got registered as clinical physicist: hurray! That of course called for a celebration. We enjoyed an afternoon with the families at Villa Pastorie – always such a pleasure to be there. 🙂
This year again the Spoorzone area was open for photographers with more buildings and props than all years before. My mom dived into the real of analogue photography, while I had a good chance to try the (borrowed) Leica M6 camera! In the meantime, Ellen made sure we had some digital shots for sure 😉
That time of year again: Christmas is all around. Wonderful days with the family with gifts, and above all a lot of great homemade food. Enjoyed the traditional ‘gourmetten’ with ice-cream desert 🙂
Elano did his confirmation in church this year, and the celebration was combined with birthdays of Sanne and Esmee. Of course this goes with presents for the kids, and cake and coffee for all of us. 🙂
